Dan Mathews brings over three decades of deep experience in commercial real estate to his leadership role with the Wholistic Innovation Network. As Vice President at Kidder Mathews, Dan has led complex transactions in acquisition, leasing, and sales totaling more than 5 million square feet since joining the firm in 1998, with expertise spanning corporate real estate, development, property management, and strategic planning. A graduate of the University of Washington’s College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Dan’s professional work is grounded in a thoughtful understanding of how built environments shape community opportunity and economic vitality.

Throughout his career, Dan has also committed himself to civic leadership and cross-sector collaboration. He has held leadership positions with the Association of Washington Business, the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Burien Economic Development Partnership, among others, bringing a collaborative mindset to both business and community initiatives. His professional affiliations with NAIOP, the CCIM Institute, and the National Association of Realtors reflect a consistent engagement with industry standards and innovation.

Dale Rae - Executive Director

Wholistic Innovation Network Executive Director Dale Rae brings a rare blend of technical expertise, operational discipline, and experiential leadership development to advance WIN’s mission of building resilient communities through innovation and collaboration. With a background as an experienced Scrum Master, IT leader, and project management professional, Dale has successfully guided complex initiatives across Agile and traditional environments. His career spans program management, technical leadership, and business development, including work with Oracle technologies and a large international technology company specializing in application security and multi-cloud systems. As an Agile Release Train Engineer overseeing more than 20 engineering teams, Dale refined his ability to align diverse stakeholders, optimize team performance, and deliver high-impact results—skills that directly support WIN’s ecosystem-building and cross-sector initiatives.

Dale’s leadership philosophy closely aligns with WIN’s vision of empowering people and strengthening systems from the ground up. Holding degrees in Computer Science and Business Management from Seattle Pacific University, he integrates strategic thinking with practical execution. His extensive volunteer leadership—ranging from chairing the Northwest Oracle User Group to serving nearly 30 years in Scouting America—demonstrates his long-standing commitment to mentorship, governance, and structured leadership development. As Scoutmaster, District Committee Chair, and course director for experiential leadership programs, Dale has consistently built high-performing teams grounded in accountability, service, and character—core values reflected in WIN’s approach to community transformation.

In addition to his executive leadership at WIN, Dale serves on the Board of the Center for Adventure Leadership, where he directs Wilderness First Aid and Backcountry Travel programs and helps adults develop confidence and competence through experiential training. His passion for the outdoors—hiking, mountaineering, skiing, rafting, and cycling—mirrors his belief that growth happens through challenge, preparation, and shared experience. At WIN, Dale channels this mindset into cultivating strong partnerships, disciplined execution, and leadership pipelines that translate vision into measurable economic and community impact.

Lucas Mathews - Director of Strategy & Partnerships

Lucas Mathews is a founder, strategist, and cross-sector connector dedicated to strengthening communities through aligned economic development and innovation. As Founder of LM Consulting, Lucas has worked at the intersection of government affairs, business development, real estate analysis, and chamber leadership across Washington State. His career has centered on building bridges between public agencies, private enterprise, nonprofits, and educational institutions to advance catalytic projects, workforce pipelines, and policy strategies that create long-term regional vitality. Through the Wholistic Innovation Network, he channels this experience into designing collaborative frameworks that turn shared vision into measurable impact.

Lucas’s background spans chamber of commerce leadership, nonprofit formation, legislative advocacy, and real estate advisory work. He has helped launch and restructure business associations, co-authored workforce strategies, advised on redevelopment initiatives, and supported public-private partnerships that drive investment and job creation. Known for his ability to translate between business, government, and community stakeholders, Lucas focuses on alignment — ensuring that strategy, capital, policy, and people move in the same direction. His approach blends disciplined analysis with entrepreneurial thinking, positioning WIN as both a convener and an action-oriented catalyst.
